Gail Murison

Gail Murison from SAN ANTONIO, Texas.
FATHER IS THOMAS MURISON, GRANDFATHER IS ALEXANDER, GREAT GRANDFATHER IS THOMAS.

WHILE MY DAD WAS IN ENGLAND DURING WWII, HE WENT TO LOSSIEMOUTH SCOTLAND TO VISIT HIS UNCLE AND SOME COUSINS. BECAUSE OUR LAST NAME, MURISON, IS UNUSUAL, HE STARTED TO TRACE THE NAME BACK IN TIME. THIS WAS NOT DIRECT DESCENDENCE, JUST THE NAME. HE TRACED MURISON BACK TO THE 1200'S, BACK TO MUIR OF ROWALLEN. ELIZABETH MUIR MARRIED KING ROBERT II. HE WAS THE FIRST STEWART. ALSO SHE WAS ALREADY RELATED TO HIM BY THIRD OR FOUTH COUSIN. BECAUSE THEY WERE RELATED, THEY HAD TO ASK THE POPE'S PERMISSION TO MARRY. BY THE TIME THE POPE SENT WORD THAT IT WAS OK. THEY HAD BEEN MARRIED AND WITH 2 OR 3 CHILDREN.
WHEN ELIZABETH DIED, ROBERT II MARRIED AGAIN. THEN IN LATER YEARS THERE WERE ARGUMENTS ABOUT ELIZABETH'S CHILDREN BEING LEGITIMENT. WHO SHOULD REALLY BE KING. FUN AND GAMES.

SO THIS IS ALL I REALLY KNOW. HOPE IT HELPS. GAIL MURISON

THE NEWSPAPER ARTICLE IS SO OLD IT IS YELLOW. THE ADVERTISEMENT ON THE BACK LOOKS LIKE THE 50'S. I AM ATTACHING A PICTURE OF ROWALLEN CASTLE. WHEN DAD WAS THERE HE GOT A LOCAL ARTIST TO PAINT TWO PICTURES OF THE CASTLE. ONE TO HIS MOTHER AND THE OTHER TO HIS THEN WIFE, MY MOTHER. I GOT THE ONE FROM MY MOTHER AND MY OLDEST AUNT GOT THE OTHER. IT IS WONDERFUL. MY OLDEST GRANDSON WILL INHERIT.

WELL I HAVE LIVED IN SAN ANTONIO SINCE DECEMBER OF 1966. SO THAT MAKES ME AN HONORARY TEXAN. I REALLY LOVE IT HERE. IT REMINDS ME OF WESTERN CANADA. EXCEPT FOR THE WEATHER. WE HAVE MILD WINTER AND HORRIBLE SUMMERS. THANK GOD FOR AIR CONDITIONER.
