James Mitchell Murison(1901-1984)
Married Roberta Thomson(1900-1985) in 1926. Lived ground floor 6 Edgemont gardens Shawlands. Lived in 4 Buchleuch Ave Clarkston Glasgow 1940-1984. Retired offered job in Co-op in charge of several Chemist shops.
Celbrated 50 years marriage.
Hutchesons' Grammar School. After school hours James helped out Sydney(1/2 brother) in the Chemist shop in Stockwell St Glasgow. As a boy he met & became pals with Stan Laurel whose Dad worked in the Metropole Theatre also in Stockwell St. Shop in Eastwood Toll Giffnock & Braidcraft Terr Pollock.
Two original autographs of Stan Laurel and one from Oliver Hardy are in Ronald F Murison's autograph book.
During WWII was Voluntary Special Sergeant in Police force. Chased armed criminal but luckily not loaded.
Qualified as a Pharmacist. Celebrated 50 years in Pharmacy as 17/7/1975
Right worshipable master of the Masonic Lodge Southern cross no 1243
Keen bowler at Giffnock bowling club where he ran the social side. Very keen fisher.
